It's coming!
In 177 days it will be Halloween.
Are you ready?
In 2013 I did a Halloween horror author countdown during the month of October, in conjunction with an e-book giveaway that netted one lucky winner 23 e-books. It was a spur of the moment thing and it was a hell of a lot of fun. I had planned to do one in 2014, but one thing led to another and before I knew it Halloween had snuck up one me.
This year I want to do it right. I want to pull together 30 up and coming horror authors who are willing to write one post on any subject within the horror genre for the countdown, and are prepared to send one copy of their work to one lucky winner. If we multiply our promotional muscle by thirty we can really spread the word about our work and possibly even garner some sales.
The countdown will end in conjunction with the 2015 Coffin Hop that takes place the last week of October leading up to Halloween.
When I did the countdown in 2013, I reached out to those authors I know. This year I want to feature authors I don't know, whose work really deserves some attention. I've been a fan of horror since I was a wee lad of ten. For forty seven years I've mucked about in the horror genre, reading everything I could lay my hands on, in that time I came across some great works, and some not so great.
If you'd like to participate send me a link to your latest release, I'll check out the sample, and if I like what I see I'll contact you for more. I'll select the thirty best to participate in the countdown. My decision will be final. If you don't make the cut this year, there is always next year, so please bear that in mind when I make my announcement.

Just a little update.
I've made the decision to open my blog to guest posts from other indie
horror authors and new release announcements I average over a thousand
page views per month, nothing spectacular, but its improving. This year I
will be repeating last years Halloween countdown listing thirty authors
in thirty days ending the event with the 2014 Coffin Hop that will
include a giveaway of an electronic library of one work from every
author who participated and agreed to provide a copy.
Last year I received over 17000 page views during the event.
I am currently serializing my next novel White Walker with a new chapter posted every Wednesday.
On Father's day I will kick off a year long contest with a monthly giveaway leading up to the release of my novel "A Father's Love." Every month I will post a photo of puddles in a different locale and those with the correct answer will be entered into a drawing to receive a prize yet to be determined. Something unique for the home or office.
Mondays and Fridays are open for guest posts and new release announcements if you're interested. Also let me know it you'd like to participate in the thirty days of Halloween.

Countdown to Halloween: Coffin Hop 2013
All good things must come to an end, and so it does with this year's Halloween Horror Author Countdown, and the Coffin Hop. The countdown was a spur of the moment thing for me, but I do plan to have the countdown again, next October, but this time I have a whole year to plan the festivities and work out the prize package. You never know, if things come together I might be able to add a Kindle Fire, or Amazon gift cards next year.
Countdown to Halloween: Gord Rollo
The final day of the countdown has arrived. Thirty days have passed. Thirty writers have been featured. Thirty new releases have been promoted. For the last day of the 2013 Halloween Countdown, I give you Gord Rollo and his latest, Jigsaw Man.
A BROKEN MAN DOWN ON HIS LUCK...
Michael Fox is a homeless man living in a garbage dumpster beneath the Carver Street Bridge in Buffalo, NY. He's bitterly depressed and ready to commit suicide; anything to put an end to his miserable existence.

Countdown to Halloween: Jeffrey Kosh
We're closing in on our target. Today's guest makes it 29, with but one more to follow. Permit me to introduce, illustrator, and author Jeffrey Kosh, and his latest release, Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Countdown to Halloween: Graeme Reynolds
We awaken to day 28, with but 2 more days to go before the countdown reaches its climax. Today we are joined by Graeme Reynold and his latest release, High Moor 2: Moonstruck.
The people of High Moor are united in horror at the latest tragedy to befall their small town. As dawn breaks, the town is left to count the cost and mourn its dead, while breathing a collective sigh of relief.

Countdown to Halloween: Dan Dillard
Day 27 dawns frosty and clear with a wee bit of a chill in the air. Only 3 days left before the countdown is but the bad memory of an adolescent on an extreme sugar rush from bags of candy doled out on All Hallows Eve. Who is that in the corner, his arms covering his head, I guess he knows what happens to the expired guests in these parts. Why it's none other than Dan Dillard and his latest release Giving up the Ghost, which is currently free.
