Been so busy writing I've pretty much ignored everything else around me. I retired at the beginning of 2021 and switched to working part time. It gets me out of the house and out of my head where I spend most of my days. The extra money is nice as well. I still haven't graduated from starving artist, but I keep trying.
Dabbled with kindle Vella for a bit, put up a couple of stories and an ongoing novel. Decided I didn't care too much for the platform. I did mange to finish the first draft of the novel I started there. Currently working on the rewrites when work on my current WIP allows. This one will be a freebie for anyone who signs up for my newsletter. The plan is to have it done by march, but we all know how plans go.
Ohh look, a shiny new thing.
I've decided to call it "Zomething Dead This Way Comes," I know, a Bradbury rip off.
Speaking about the writing front last year I managed to churn out over 180,000 words. 95k were for Zomething dead, another 75k for Assimilation book three of a trilogy I started in 2012. I will definitely get that one out this year to finish the Shadows of the Past trilogy. Look for Assimilation sometime around August or September. Of course with the trilogy done I'll be able to put together a bundle and offer that for a good price for anyone interested.
With these two out of the way I will be able to turn my attention to my post apocalyptic series, This Lawless Land. While writing book 5, Faces of our Fathers, A character introduced themselves that I realized should have appeared in book one. Yes, this series is inspired by Stephen King's Dark Tower.
My initial plan with All Roads Lead to Terror was that it would be a standalone book, but the boys kept talking to me and one book became four, that is now clamoring to be seven. The goal is to finish this series over the next two years so I can move on to other storeis that keep nagging at me.
But we'll see how it all pans out.
